ST STITHIANS PREPARATORY – IT ROOMS
We were called to the St Stithians boys Prep and asked to help with the refurbishment of the 2 IT classrooms. They were outdated and by no means indicative of current times and thinking.
The objective was to create a space that stimulated and inspired the boys – a place that they wanted to be in. Through the use of colour, visuals and texture we created an environment that promotes both formal and informal learning, creative thinking and a positive work ethic.
The choice of decals on the windows and ceiling added interest and energy to the environment while the shape of the desks offered intrigue and catered for an optimal number of boys to sit together.
The bean bags and grass inserts, in the form of steppingstones, were introduced as an element of fun. The informal area has a large circular patch of grass for the boys making them feel more relaxed and of being free and outdoors while in the process of structured learning.
A lovely project to work on and so rewarding to see the boys enjoying their new space. The hope is that they are inspired to produce great work and develop a progressive way of thinking
